• Worked great for my SSD

  Pros

  Fortunately, I found AOMEI Backupper after trying "True Image" with no success.It let me clone my 1GB drive, with less than 500 MB on it, to a 500 MB SSD with no problems. I also like the interface much better than "True Image". The installation is very good too with no surprises.

  Cons

  none were noticed

  Summary

  I'm recommending this to everyone who wants to clone their old drive to an SSD.

• Hugely disappointing

  Pros

  As stated fairly easy to use, although could do a LOT better by highlighting backup devices attached to PC and their available capacity.

  Cons

  Fails to do the basics like check that there is enough space available to do the backup once it has calculated how big it is, and in my case many later came to a juddering halt. Even then no indication of how much has been backed up, and how much still remains to be done.

  Summary

  Probably OK if you are backing up to a web based backup service of "infinite" capacity, but requires you to do the hard work checking that you have sufficient space when using attached media. Hugely disappointing.

• Got rid of Win10 after Windows 1 month trial period

  Pros

  I backed up my entire Win7 system using Aomei backupper and then installed Win 10. I realised after 2 months that I couldn't stand Win10 with the various issues of drivers not provided and therefore pieces of hardware rendered useless. I was now outside the Microsoft period of being able to go back so thought this would be a good real life test of Backupper. The restore worked perfectly and I am happily back on Win7.

  Cons

  Some of the descriptions of what each type of backup does could be clearer but this is a minor niggle for a piece of freeware that will really get you out of trouble if needed.

  Summary

  A very good, easy to use, free complete system backup that has actually worked for me when needed!

• Seamless install and intuitive drive cloning software

  Pros

  The software download and install went smoothly. The operation was intuitive and completed seamlessly. I recommend anyone replacing a hard drive use AOMEI 3.2

  Summary

  I cloned 2 drives using AOMEI 3.2, the only hitch I came across was of my own doing. After gathering the data and before shutting down a window popped up prompting to create a bootable disk which I ignored. When I rebooted my system it came up normally and didn't start the cloning operation. SO, the SECOND time I paid attention and created the PE Windows disk and from there everything went smoothly. The dashboard simple and intuitive.

  Pros

  AOMEI Tech Support is good! - backup to external drive or network drive; fast and efficient; simple and easy program interface - works, does what it claims to do and does it well. If you download and install Windows Automated Installment Kit (AIK) for Windows 7, the backupper software can create a Windows PE boot disc (CD) and can include drivers for, say, your ethernet card, to allow restoration from a network drive. Else you can use the Linux version of the recovery disc that works well but is less versatile.

  Summary

  I came across the 'Pro' version of this software last Xmas, which was bundled with some other software (Wise Care 365 Pro) that I was purchasing on sale. I tried it and liked it - and I've had paid versions of Acronis True Image, Macrium Reflect, EaseUS Todo Backup on my systems: this new kid on the block works well, I highly recommend it! I decided to put it on a refurbished machine that I recently upgraded to Windows 10: it works like a charm! So easy to use, reliable, set and forget: I use the 'Pro' version but the Standard version, which is free, has many of the same features of the 'Pro'.

• Killed my O.S.

  Well, it destroyed my O.S. when I tried to restore one of my pcs from backup. Would boot, couldn't repair it.

  Summary

  So does looking good and being easy to use go beyond uselessness into malevolence? I think so, you decide for yourself...

• Poor contrast of UX colors & fonts, no skins or themes.

  Many nice backup & imaging features. Logical operation. VSS, and other useful items.

  Cons

  The choice of colors, fonts, and menu foreground/background contrast is horrible! Very difficult to look at this app for any length of time, causes visual fatigue. It's really a shame they couldn't offer a few different themes/skins... poor design decision.

  A potentially great application, ruined by poor visual contrast of critical UX aspects...

  This tool is very simple to use, I like it! I just wanted to write to you to say that I find your software easy to read and locate relevant info. Very cool!

  Cons

  The new features of AOMEI Backupper 3.1 improve the program further. Your application seems to work very well, and I have not had any issues.

  Summary

  I often use your software backup my files, I think it is particularly good, thank you very much. AOMEI Backupper is wonderful!

• Newest version is flawed...

  Free is nice but working is better

  This version has been disabled (5.6.0). The 'System Clone' needs to be unlock. To do this you're supposed to go to social media and post an advertisement. I did it 3 times but the system remained locked. Nothing I could do helped unlock the software.

  Summary

  Contacted AOMEI Backupper support and they suggest to go sign-up for a multi cloud outfit. I did and nothing I did helped. I email a second time and they repeated the same message as before. I used their 'Disk Clone' and it failed miserably. It spent 11 hours cloning my drive to another drive of the same make, model and size and it simply did nothing....zero was cloned. In fact the drive was left in a non-formatted condition and 99% was unusable. Drive was partitioned and working fine before AOMEI Backupper got a hold of it.
